SUB-ZERO MODEL 642/S 42 STAINLESS STEEL BUILT IN REFRIGERATOR. The Sub-Zero 642 Side-by-Side Refrigerator/Freezer has more than 24 cubic feet of storage capacity in all. As with all Sub-Zero units, every inch of the large interior is easily accessible.

Meets strict Department of energy requirements - uses less energy than a 100-watt light bulb. Front venting allows unit to be completely built in and serviced from the front. UL approved for US and Canada. Star-K Kosher certified as Sabbath and holiday-compliant. Side by side refrigerator / freezer.

Shallow-depth design means access is easy to any area of the refrigerator. Electronic controls are up front and easy to use. High-humidity compartment is large with smooth sides for easy cleaning-there's even an added storage drawer. Automatic ice maker provides an ample supply of crescent-shaped ice. Sub-Zero's dual refrigeration system ensures the freshest food and energy efficiency. A door alarm will let you know with an audible beeping if your refrigerator or freezer door is left ajar. The Sub-Zero 642/S Side-by-Side Refrigerator/Freezer has more than 24 cubic feet of storage capacity in all. High-humidity compartment is large with smooth sides for easy cleaning.

There's even an added storage drawer. Refrigerator Capacity: 16.2 cu ft (459 L). Freezer Capacity: 8.2 cu ft (232 L).

Electrical Requirements: 115 V AC, 60 Hz, 15-amp circuit. 90° and 105° door stop kits. Door Swing Clearance: 25-9/16 (649 mm).

Even if they describe the unit as refurbished or serviced by a Sub-Zero tech, assume the update service has not been done. In addition, unless the stainless doors are described as new or flawless, assume they will have some amount of damage, dings, scratches, or scuffs that may not be disclosed. We only sell perfect stainless doors, unless stated otherwise.

Refurbishing also includes gaskets, stainless top grill, stainless doors, updated LED lighting, etc. No aftermarket Chinese parts used. E completely tested the unit over a month and all the functions operated as per factory specs. This is a refurbished model 642 stainless steel 42 Sub-Zero. The stainless doors are flawless, appear new and have no dents or dimples, see photos below. Interior has no damage, see photos below. Some of the clear plastic bins have some very light scuff marks here and there. We rate the condition as very good, but not perfect, so if you require something better this item may not be for you. More than 20 photos are shown below, so just scroll down the page. The Freon gas will leak out and the fresh food section will slowly get warmer until it no longer gets cold.

This never happens to the freezer evaporator. This will occur on the 400, 500, 600, 700 series models.

Not sure about the BI series yet because they have not been out long enough. Compressors do go out, but not that often and not at the same time. Additionally, seldom are the stainless steel doors described accurately since most will have some type of damage. Please note that Sub-Zero is the last remaining good built-in refrigerator made anywhere.

All the others are throw-away units when they break. They had a good design and the models could be repaired if required. Now, GE Monograms are junk since they use a new ENERGY saving compressor system which runs on 600a Freon gas and 220v 3 phase design.

No one will work on them since the butane Freon gas is flammable. You just toss them in the dumpster. Trump talked about all this and everyone just laughed at him. Only what is shown in the below photos will come with the unit.

No other items are included with this other than what is shown in the below photos. We fully test each appliance for function and factory spec operation, but we DO NOT inspect them with a magnifying glass.
